Our Pediatric Dental Practice is located in the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, also known as the Children's Pavilion, at 1000 East Broad Street, Richmond, Va. Faculty offices are currently located in the VCU Dental Building 1.
With the addition of VCU Dental Care, Children’s Pavilion is now the only building of its kind in the region to bring pediatric medical and dental services under one roof. In the U.S., over 51 Million school hours are lost each year to dental related illness. Tooth Decay is the single most common chronic childhood disease and can have damaging effects to the child’s overall well-being. Co-locating dentistry, primary care and specialty care enables us to increase the number of children who receive regular, coordinated medical and dental care, which is a critical foundation to a healthy childhood.
The Health Sciences Library and the Ambulatory Care Center for the VCU Medical Center are located across the street from the dental school. The Health Sciences Library is the largest health science library in Virginia and serves as a resource for resident research and patient care information. The majority of the hospital based general anesthesia cases are performed at the Ambulatory Care Center and the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU Outpatient Pavilion.
